About Us
The Academy of Medical Education during Conflicts (AMEC) is a global initiative dedicated to strengthening medical education and healthcare delivery in crisis-affected regions.
We implement innovative approaches, primarily through Simulation-Based Education (SBE), enhanced by augmented reality technologies, to support undergraduate and postgraduate training, as well as continuous professional development, while ensuring the continuity of high-quality medical education during times of conflict and instability.
AMEC delivers direct healthcare services through the Virtual Sudan Clinic, a completely free online clinic providing accessible medical consultations to communities affected by conflict, helping bridge critical gaps in healthcare access.
Our team brings extensive experience working with undergraduate students, postgraduate trainees, and mutual aid groups in low-resource settings. In collaboration with our partners, we pioneered the implementation of augmented reality–enhanced simulation and blended training in Sudan following the outbreak of war in 2023, with a strong focus on emergency training and capacity building.
Our Vision
To be the globally recognized leader in providing innovative, equitable, and sustainable medical education and digital health solutions, ensuring that healthcare professionals and trainees in conflict and crisis-affected regions can maintain the highest standard of practice and contribute to the resilience of their communities.
